Infrared Gas Detector

The BG-1000-IR Infrared gas detector is designed to detect the presence of hydrocarbon gases in an area by measuring the absorption of infrared light at specific wavelengths.

For Hydrocarbon Gas SIL Certified Infrared Gas Sensor OLED Display for gas level and detection status 4-20mA, RS 485 Modbus, Alarm

Product Description

The BG-1000-IR is a Flameproof, PESO Certified Gas Detector designed to detect leaks of combustible hydrocarbon gases accurately. It includes a 16 x 2 Alphanumeric OLED display for easy programming using a magnetic wand, offering a clear digital display of gas concentration. It offers a default signal output of 4-20mA for data transmission, a 3-wire system with a configurable range, three relay outputs with a 5A rating, and RS-485 Communication Modbus RTU Protocol.

The construction of Fixed type gas detection consists of:

Housing: The detector is housed in a sturdy, durable enclosure to withstand harsh industrial environments. The housing is typically made of materials such as die-cast aluminum to protect against corrosion and mechanical damage.

Gas Sample Chamber: The gas sample chamber is a sealed space through which the gas to be detected flows. It allows infrared light to interact with the gas molecules, enabling the detector to measure the gas's concentration.

Infrared Light Source: The detector contains an infrared light source that emits infrared light at specific wavelengths. The wavelengths of light emitted are selected based on the absorption characteristics of the target gas.

Infrared Detector: Positioned opposite the light source, the infrared detector detects the infrared light that has passed through the gas sample. The detector converts the absorbed light into an electrical signal, which is then processed to determine the gas concentration.

Optical Filters: Some detectors may include optical filters to select specific wavelengths of infrared light relevant to the target gas. These filters help improve the detector's sensitivity and selectivity.

Electronics: The detector is equipped with electronics that process the signals from the detector, convert them into meaningful data, and control the detector's operation. The electronics may include signal processing circuits, microcontrollers, and communication interfaces.

Output Interface: The detector has an output interface for transmitting data to external devices, such as control systems or alarm panels. The output interface may include analog outputs, digital outputs, and communication interfaces (e.g., RS-485, Modbus).

Power Supply: The detector requires a power supply to operate. Depending on the specific model and application requirements, it may be powered by AC or DC power sources.

Benefits

Infrared sensors are highly sensitive to a wide range of gases
Compared to other types of gas detectors, infrared detectors typically require less maintenance, saving time and resources.
They often have a longer lifespan, providing reliable and continuous monitoring over an extended period.
Infrared detectors offer high accuracy in gas detection, reducing false alarms and ensuring reliable operation.
They can detect a wide range of gases, making them versatile for various industrial and commercial applications.
By detecting gas leaks early, infrared detectors help to enhance safety in workplaces and other environments where gas leaks can pose a threat to health and safety.
