Precision inline transit-time gas flow measurement with integrated temperature & pressure compensation —engineered for compressed air, natural gas, biogas, and industrial gas applications.
Biogas, Natural gas, LPG Gas, Propane, Compressed air, Flare, etc Sensor : Ceramic Size: DN 50 to DN 200 Flange: ANSI B16.5, 150# / 300# 4-20mA & RS 485 Modbus RTU Power Supply: 24 VDC / 230 VAC Temp: 0 ... +80°C Inbuilt Temp and Pressure CompensationThe BU-7010 Ultrasonic Gas Flow Meter is an advanced inline transit-time flow instrument specifically engineered for precise measurement of gaseous media, including compressed air, natural gas, biogas, and other industrial gases. It extends the core BU-7000 platform with integrated temperature and pressure compensation, enabling accurate calculation of normalized (Nm³) and standard (Sm³) volumetric flow — essential for custody transfer, energy billing, and process control in gas applications.
At its core, the BU-7010 operates on the ultrasonic transit-time difference principle. Two piezoelectric transducers are mounted at opposing angles on the flow tube. One transducer emits an ultrasonic pulse in the direction of gas flow (downstream), while the other transmits upstream. Because sound travels faster when carried by a moving gas, the downstream pulse arrives sooner. The instrument precisely measures this time difference — which is directly proportional to the gas velocity — to compute volumetric flow rate in real time.
The BU-7010 incorporates dedicated PT100 temperature sensors and a pressure transducer integrated into the flow body. The onboard microprocessor uses these real-time values, along with the gas compressibility factor (Z) for natural gas, to continuously recalculate and display corrected flow in user-selectable engineering units including m³/hr, Nm³/hr, Sm³/hr, Scfm, cfm, kg/hr, and more.
Body and Mechanical Structure:
Inline Spool-Piece Design: Fully welded flow tube is a single-piece spool that installs in-line between upstream and downstream flanges — no bypass valves or additional plumbing required.
Flanged Connections: ANSI / B16.5 standard flanges in sizes DN50 (2") through DN200 (8") for universal compatibility with existing piping systems.
Wetted Materials: Flow tube body in Mild Steel or SS 304 / SS 316. Sensor transducers use Ceramic and Titanium Alloy elements for chemical resistance and longevity in aggressive gas media.
Transmitter Housing: Die-cast aluminium enclosure, powder-coated for corrosion resistance. Mounted directly on the flow tube via integral bracket — no remote transmitter required in standard configuration.
Transducer Ports: Recessed transducer wells machined directly into the pipe body, ensuring acoustic coupling without flow obstruction.
Integrated Sensor Ports: Purpose-built ports for the temperature probe (thermowell) and pressure tapping machined into the spool, ensuring accurate process variable measurement at the point of flow.
Compact Form Factor: Short face-to-face dimensions relative to bore size minimise installation space requirements. Available in horizontal or vertical mounting orientations.
